US President Barack Obama concludes his visit to Beijing on Wednesday. Considering this is Obama's first visit to China since Chinese President Xi Jinping took office in 2013, Washington attaches great importance to this visit.
The Finance Ministry has asked China Exim Bank for a soft loan to build a regional international airport in Pokhara. The credit request follows the Cabinet’s go-ahead on October 27 to construct the much-delayed project with Chinese funding. The proposed airport will be built at Chinnedanda, 3 km east of the existing domestic airport in the lakeside city.
Emerging economic powers such as China, India and Brazil have long been demanding greater share of votes in multilateral development institutions like the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and the Asian Development Bank to reflect their recent phenomenal growth.
