CPDCC meet slated for Tuesday
The meeting of Constitutional Political and Consensus Committee (CPDCC) of the Constituent Assembly (CA) has been summoned for Tuesday.
This decision to hold the meet was taken after discussions between CPDCC Chairman Baburam Bhattarai and CA Chairman Subash Nembang.
The chasm between political parties has widened alarmingly after ruling parties-Nepali Congress and CPN (UML)- registered a common proposal on contents of the new constitution at the CPDCC.
Opposition parties including the UCPN (Maoist) are averese to discussions on proposal tabled at the CPDCC while ruling parties have been rooting to summon CPDCC meet to discuss their proposal.
CPDCC Chairman Baburam Bhattarai, who is suffering from Typhoid, has stepped up his political meetings from today.
Bhattarai reportedly talked with Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress (NC) Sushil Koirala, CA Chairman Subash Nembang CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, Chairman of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (Democratic) Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar on Monday.
Similarly, he met UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at his residence in Sanepa on Sunday.
According to Bhattarai’s personal secretariat, during the talks with the leaders, Chairman Bhattarai requested them to search a common point for agreement. He told PM Koirala and UML Chairman Oli that he won’t be a constraint for agreement but would rather facilitate consensus among parties.
Chairman Bhattarai also discussed on summoning CPDCC meeting that has been postponed since few days, his personal secretariat said.
