Nepal-Canada Friendship and Cultural Association (NCFCA) on January 18, 2015 organised a program in Kathmandu to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Nepal and Canada
Addressing the function, Foreign Affairs Minister Mahindra Bahadur Pandey expressed happiness over the celebration of the golden jubilee of the formal relationship between the two countries. He further said that Nepal and Canada had great potentials to promote the diplomatic and business ties for mutual benefits covering all possible areas including trade, investment and tourist.
Parliamentary secretary to the minister of foreign affairs and for international human rights, Canada, M.P. Deepak Obhrai, during his keynote speech said that Canada was looking at building strong and robust business relations between the two countries.
Similarly, President of Nepal-Canada Friendship and Cultural Association Hiranya Lal Shrestha said, "The NCFCA is celebrating golden jubilee of Nepal-Canada relations with a number of commemorative events in 2015. It is also working to strengthen better friendship, understanding and co-operation between Nepal and Canada at people to people level."
Golden Jubilee Souvenir was also released during the ceremony.
Canadian MP Deepak Obhrai led a delegation to Nepal to participate in 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between two countries.
