CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya has said that the 16-point agreement forged between the major four parties—Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, UCPN (Maoist) and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum- Loktantrik—would not yield a new constitution. He argued that the only option for the promulgation of the new constitution was an all party political conference.

Speaking to media persons after the party district meeting at Kavre on Tuesday Chairman Baidya, during the occasion, said that the UCPN (M), with whom his party had a working alliance, betrayed them deeply and under the circumstances, dialogues regarding party unification would not be pursued.

Likewise, the CPN-Maoist Chairman criticised the government of failing to bring appropriate plans for the victims of the April 25 earthquake.
