The banda (general shutdown) in effect for a week in Butwal has been called off. The banda was called against government's effort to amend constitution by re-drawing the boundary of province no 5.
Chairman of CPN-UML in the district, Shivraj Subedi, informed that the form of agitation was changed, so all protest programmes including the banda were stopped.
The weeklong banda had badly affected the industrialists, traders, students and the commoners.
Trader escapes injury in firing
Meanwhile, two armed persons come in a motorcycle opened firing at Vice-Chairman of Siddhartha Industry and Commerce Association, Kul Prasad Neupane at Gallmandi of Siddharthanagar municipality Tuesday evening.
However, Nuepane escaped injury. Two involved in shooting were held by the police. Investigation into the incident is underway, the police added.
